To instill a sense of optimism about our community to counteract a sense of loss experienced when we lost our only store, our resident parish priest (both within the last 6 months), and the loss of our school about 8 years ago.

Our Purpose!
To install children’s playground equipment /outdoor gym equipment at Heritage Park. Accessible equipment is also planned to make our park open to all citizens. Our purpose is to provide a safe and inviting place for citizens of all ages to come, have fun, socialize, and exercise.

We got it!
The Fort Augustus Heritage Park committee is working hard to improve our community, by building a childrens playground and adult gym equipment. We were awarded a National Award from Let Them Be Kids to allow us to make our dreams a reality for the community. Let Them Be Kids has granted us a 50/50 split on our funding, meaning that for every $1.00 we raise, Let Them Be Kids will match it giving us $2.00! How wonderful is that!!!!! We are so excited and with lots of hard work from everyone in our community we adults, as well as our children will have a safe place to get physical activity and a wonderful place to play. We will be having our big announcement to the community on August 1st, 2010 at the Strawberry and Ice Cream Social and fun day. Our Build day is scheduled for October 30th, 2010! So make sure you sign up and help out with the fun filled and wonderful community event!
